This is a picture of a person in handcuffs.
After the sin has been revealed, the individual must face the consequences of the sin. Whether it be jail time or apologizing for the person's wrong-doing, consequences are not avoidable, especially after the sin has been revealed to others. As depicted in the picture, this person is owning up to the crime they committed and is now in handcuffs for their actions. While facing consequences for sins is tough, it must be done. Consequences can affect one's life in numerous ways. For example, a major sin that leads to jail time would not allow the sinner to live a normal, everyday life. The person would not be able to go to work or spend time with their family on a day-to-day basis, which would change the life of the sinner and the lives of the sinner's family. This is depicted throughout the novel Scarlet Letter with Pearl, Hester's daughter. While Hester committed the sin of adultery, the consequence was that Hester had to raise Pearl and give her the best life possible. While many people would view this as a detriment to Hester's life, Hester puts in all of her time and effort in making Pearl's life a great one. She does not take shame in Pearl. Instead, she is prideful and loves Pearl."God, as a direct consequence of the sin which man this punished, had given her a lovely child, whose place was on that same dishonored bosom ...and to be a finally blessed soul in heaven" (Hawthorne 84). Hester takes her "consequence" as a blessing- a gift from God- and puts all of her heart and soul into Pearl. Consequences can negatively impact a sinner's life or positively impact a sinner's life, it is all up to the person perceiving the circumstance.
